Vitamins are organic compounds that our bodies need in small quantities to function properly. They primarily act as catalysts for metabolic processes and, with a few exceptions, cannot be synthesized by the body in sufficient quantities. Vitamins are classified into two groups: water-soluble vitamins (B-complex and C) that require regular replenishment, and fat-soluble vitamins (A, D, E, and K) that can be stored in the body.

Supplements, on the other hand, can contain a wide array of ingredients including vitamins, minerals, herbs or other botanicals, amino acids, and substances such as enzymes and metabolites. Supplements come in various forms, like tablets, capsules, powders, liquids, and even in forms like gummies. They are used to supplement the diet when food intake is not sufficient or when specific health benefits are desired.

While these supplements can be beneficial, they are not intended to replace a balanced diet and should be used as part of a holistic approach to good health and wellbeing.
